God please speak to my soul today

Show me Your love and that you’ll stay.

Lonely have I been for Your love.

Spirit of God descend like a dove.

Into my heart afresh, anew

Enliven in me love so true.

With this love I take from Thee

Shine forth into all I see.

Grace bestow on all around

Thank God for this love we’ve found.

And slowly love slips from my grasp

Slithering like an old time asp

Happiness is gone far from me

Did I somehow loose faith in Thee?

Did not I choose to live for love,

But now I cannot find my dove.

And in this dark night of my soul

To keep the faith will be my goal.
