Our flights
back went smoothly. I had stressed for a moment in Iowa when Central called saying I was needed to rush call into Sean
Saves the World. I called Joe to find out what was going on. His daughter Alex had not been available for an impromptu
photo shoot with the cast and I was called. He said it was fine I was out of town and not to worry, the regular production
schedule would still be starting up the next week. Once we landed in Burbank, I was back to work, doing bills, laundry,
organizing the house and getting ready to start my new stand in job.
Central called Monday night saying I was on for Sean Saves the World starting Tuesday, a day earlier than
originally planned. I had to cancel Zyla's playdate to Hurricane Harbor with her friend and reschedule for the following
week. My call time was 10am. I arrived to Universal Studios and walked down to my new sound stage home.
The first person I ran into inside stage 41 was Wendell. He welcomed me back and showed me where the production office
was. There I found Todd and Eric, who informed me I was way too early. Central had messed up the call times and
I was not due in until 1pm. I decided to go home for a few hours and come back. On my way out I ran into Joe and
Matt. Ed had taken Zyla to see Smurfs 2, so the house was quiet while I waited to return to set. I finished reading
Flaming Iguanas by Erika Lopez. Awesome, cartoony biker babe road trip
book I found at the library. Around noon, I headed back and found Alex. We were so excited to be working together
again, this was going to be a great season! Later, Patti, Antar, Houston, Ginny, and Yu arrived and it felt like a Whitney
reunion party. I met the new stand ins Michael and Rodney. We broke for lunch before the run thrus. Todd
said we had been brought in a day early to read lines in a re-shoot for the pilot which would have its own run thru after
the main episode run thru. We thought we would be wrapped after the run thru but Patti wanted to keep us for lighting.
Unfortunately there had been no rehearsals of the pilot re-shoot, and we were brought in so late that we did not see rehearsals
of the main show, so we weren't as helpful to Patti as she was hoping. Little bumpy start, but we got the work done
and headed out by 6:30pm. I loved working at Uni and was looking forward to getting my crew badge and figuring out how
to sneak up into the theme park to ride rides during our down time on show nights! After dinner, Ed, Zyla and I watched
another episode of Smash. I felt honored to be standing in for the very talented Megan Hilty on her new hit show, Sean
Saves the (Whitney Crew) World. Wednesday, I needed to
be to set by 9:30am. This was going to be a busy day re-shooting the pilot as well as running rehearsals for our new
episode. I wrote down all the notes on Megan/Liz for her scenes. I introduced myself to my girl Megan Hilty during
some down time and told her my family and I were big fans of her show Smash. She said she had a lot of fun shooting
that. She seemed like a genuinely nice girl, not above everyone else, but always offering smiles to cast and crew alike.
The caterer Alan, was the same guy who had catered on Better Off Ted, so that was funny seeing him again and his food is always
good. Other new faces were Jack, whom I remembered from my Dexter days, it was good to see him again. Then the
camera crew started showing up on Stage 35 where we moved to after the run thru to start the pilot re-shoots. I made
my way around saying hellos to all my old friends from Whitney. The re-shoot went well, the stand ins were not even
used for any of the scenes on Stage 35, so we just stood watching for a few hours. Then back to Stage 41 where the stand
ins were used to block out the scenes finishing up the pilot. We had to re-shoot the pilot because another actress had
played Liz in the pilot and my girl Megan had been re-cast into the role for the show. It was fun working with our director
James Burrows knowing his history in show biz. From Lavern and Shirley to Cheers to Will and Grace, this guy had been
part of many hit shows and was a legend in his own right. We wrapped out by 7:40pm with some overtime and meal penalty.
I got home in time for dinner with my family then some Smash before bed.
Day 3 on Sean Saves the World. I was really looking forward to this show taking off. We had
two strong star name leads, we were on the Universal lot with a huge poster that 100's of tour busses passed every day, and
if the advertising budget was in place this could go far. It was a really cute funny show, with dialog as well as physical
humor in place. I arrived to the lot early to see about getting my crew badge. Elaine, Alex mom, was standing
in for Linda Lavin, playing Sean's mom Lorna. Alex and I were helping her figure out how to take notes for the camera
blocking since she had not stood in for a while. The day went by mellow, James Burrows would have the actors perform
three scenes then we would camera block them with stand ins. We would run through the scene once, there were never marks
laid down on the floor, it all just seemed to flow perfectly. I had never been on a set without marks being laid down.
Lunch was an hour walk away, but they still brought in catered food! Whoever had done the rewrites for the new script
of the day was brilliant, it was soooo funny! After camera blocking the entire episode, in which none of the scenes
were being pre-shot, we then moved on to do some promo stuff. A continuation of the promo stuff they had started last
week, when I had been rush called to the show while I was still in Iowa. Michael told me Megan, the stand in from Whitney
had shown up to do it! I thought that was cool, considering there were no regular red heads so she would not be standing
in with us for the show on a regular basis. The director of the promo pieces was Marc Buckland. I remembered him
when he directed a few of the Better Off Ted episodes. It made sense he was here considering Victor Fresco wrote the
pilot and was producing this show as well as creating Better Off Ted. Megan and Sean looked stunning. Megan wore
a gold gown all dolled up like Marilyn Monroe, while Sean was in a tux. They did a cute little promo piece, their chemistry
was adorable together. Finally wrapped out by 5pm and watched some more Smash with my family before going to bed.
Friday, our first Shownight on the Universal Lot!!! My call time
was noon, so I figured I would probably be working until midnight, remembering those early Whitney shownights. Zyla
went to a beach birthday party in Santa Barbara and Ed worked on his horror script while I sat inside Stage 41 watching the
camera refresh commence. Samantha Isler who plays Ellie was brought in an hour later than the other actors because being
only 14 years old, she could only be on set a certain amount of time. Alex was asked to run through Ellie's lines in
the first scene. She did an amazing job with the lines, blocking and timing. The director wanted Samantha to have
the opportunity to run through all her scenes so when she showed up to set he ran the first scene again with her. Parenthood
shot on the sound stage next door to us and at one point Dax Shepard came over to say hi and check out our show. The
day flew by, and as usual, the stand ins did nothing but watch. Lunch was catered on Stage 34, the chocolate chip bread
pudding with Rum was really good. The audience was loaded while we were still at lunch, so when we reentered the sound
stage the playback of the pilot was running. The security to get inside was very lax compared to how it had been on
Whitney. Katharine McPhee sat in our audience front row. She came to give her support to her Smash co-star Megan
Hilty. The production room was smaller than the one we had sat in at Whitney. Joe thought we would be more comfortable
in the changing rooms outside the sound stage and across the way. But when we went there, all the BG were in there and
it was really crowded with nowhere to sit. We decided to just squeeze and make it work in the production room on stage.
I liked being close to the action and hearing the show play out all night. It made the time go by faster than being
in some room not knowing what was going on for hours. Alex had a fun app on her phone called Face Reading that she did
on everyone. We passed the time talking about horror movies and Spirituality. Matt's crew badge came and Michael
and I wondered what happen to ours since we had applied for ours hours earlier than he did the day before. A few hours
later my crew badge came, I was excited! Now if I could just figure out how to sneak up to the theme park with it!
I had some raspberry cheesecake, but passed on the second meal of Chinese food. I forgot that because there was a minor
as a lead cast member, they would probably have to end the show by the time she would need to wrap. We finished at 9:30pm,
amazing for a first show, with no pre-shoots! Then Todd told us we needed to redo scene M in the apartment and to grab
our scripts. Alex, Michael, Elaine and I ran to set. Joe said we weren't going to be needed and could go home,
so Erik signed our vouchers and thus ended our first shownight. I got home a few minutes after Zyla had arrived from
her beach party. Ed and I watched an episode of The L Word before we crashed out for the night. Saturday, I was excited for the Starlight Bowl Summer Concert we were seeing
with our friends David, Diana and Tobey. We all met up at Dino's for some pizza before heading to the venue. The
weather was perfect for an outdoor show, and we arrived just as Queen Nation took to the stage. This tribute band did
a phenomenal job! The next act was Led Zepagain who rocked it! Zyla and I went down front to dance to the high-energy
show. The talented artist Gregory Adamson came out between the shows to paint a portrait of Robert Plant upside down.
It was fast and amazing and looked great! He also had a portrait of Jimmy Page and both were auctioned off during the
show. When we got home from the show, we checked the mail and found a letter from SAG/AFTRA addressed to Zyla!
She had earned her eligibility to join the Union! We were excited for her!
Sunday, we all got up to go to the Byzantine Mass, because rumor was it would be chaos at our regular church
since the renovations to the main sanctuary had commenced and all services would be in the Social Center which held half what
the main church did. I got some DVD's from the library. Zyla and I watched The Lucky One and She's the Man.
Ed and I watched This Is 40. That evening, Zyla and I headed over to Jodi's so I could watch True Blood while she played
with her friends. Monday, Zyla left to another beach party
with her friend Clarissa and a few other girls from her class. I called up Kids Management to make sure they had received
Zyla's new picture since they had never sent a confirmation text. I also asked them about her eligibility into SAG/AFTRA
and if that would affect her getting jobs. They said she could continue to work any TV or Film job, but if she worked
a Commercial she would need to join the Union within 3 days. Considering it was $3000 to join, I decided she would not
be going to commercials any time soon, unless it was a big principal part that would cover the initiation fee. Around
1pm Kids Management texted with a job for Zyla on New Girl! She needed to bring her bike and helmet. I texted
her at the beach to let her know, she was excited! Unfortunately a script re-write cancelled out all the kids on the
call and by 4:20pm I got a text saying no kids would be needed until later in the week.
The remainder of the week went by mellow. I supervised Zyla as she finished up her summer book report
project and helped her with her creative collages for her new binder for school. I took her bike riding down the Burbank
bike path. We watched movies. I finished reading A Sad Affair
by Wolfgang Koeppen. I enjoyed the lyrical German period piece novel set in the 20's/30's cabaret about one man's obsessive
love of one girl. I was hoping Kids Management would call with a job for Wednesday, but they didn't. Instead they
called twice with jobs for Thursday, one on The Miller's, but since I had no idea if I was working Sean Saves the World, I
couldn't book her on it. It all worked out for the best since she had a playdate scheduled with her friend Tobey and
considering she cancelled on him last month to work a show, I wanted them to be able to play before his summer came to an
end. He was going back to school the following week. So I did not get called to come into work for Thursday and
was able to take her to Verdugo Swimming Pool with her friend Tobey to enjoy the new waterslides. Later that night I
got my call to return to Sean Saves the World for Friday. Friday
was a mellow day on set. Call time was 10am. The new episode was fun. My girl Megan said hi to all the stand
ins when she arrived to set. I took notes on all her movements as rehearsals commenced. I ran into Alan at crafty
reminiscing about Better Off Ted days and where everyone was now. I was so thankful to be standing in on a sitcom again
where I could enjoy myself and laugh with all my friends. After the run thru, Patti wanted us for lighting. We
all wrapped out just before 5pm. I came home to watch the second season of Smash with my family. Saturday I woke up early to take Zyla to her friend Mikee's house. They
were going for a beach day, meaning Ed and I would have 12 hours to ourselves. We had a date day, going for sushi lunch
at Niko Niko, then out to Magic Mountain. The temperatures were in the 90's so we first walked to the back of the park
to the Tidal Wave exit to get soaked by the boat coming down. Then we walked up to the Superman ride because the line
is held in a cave with chilly air conditioning blasting. I love that ride. I felt dry by the time that was over
so we went back to Tidal Wave to get soaked again before heading to Goliath. That ride line was nice because it was
shaded by palm tree leaves and misters. The new Full Throttle ride looked tempting but we wanted to save our first time
on it when Zyla was with us. Before we left the park, we had a caramel funnel cake. I had not had one since I
was a kid. It was so insanely good, we devoured it within minutes. When we got home our new Netflix had arrived,
Georgia O'Keeffe. Great autobiographical movie about the artist, beautifully shot.
Sunday I read Iodine by Haven Kimmel. I really liked
her approach, each chapter starting as a free flow thoughts dream journal entry, then switching to narrative about the current
day and issues she faced. Original and fresh, not formula, I loved the psychological gothic tale of delusion and fantasy.
I took Zyla shopping for back to school clothes. We finished our Smash disk, then I headed to Jodi's for the season
finale of True Blood. I loved how they showed 6 months later, but then the ending just left us hanging with a long wait
for next season to resolve the issues. With a huge group of vamps converging on Bon Temps it reminded me of the zombie
infestations on The Walking Dead. Summer was ending, only one more weekend until Zyla returned to school. I would
miss my Sunday night rituals with Jodi. Monday I did not
need to be to set until 1pm. There was a sexual harassment meeting but since I attended on the first season of Whitney
I was cleared by NBC and did not have to go. The first scenes being pre-shot for our episode did not have my girl in
them, so I would have a short day. I chose to read more from the brilliant Haven Kimmel. I just loved Iodine so
much, I wished it would be made into a movie. It was so trippy, I felt compelled to read it again when I was done, break
apart and analyze all that the main character Trace/Ianthe is working through. I woke Zyla, took her to her playdate
with Mikee then came home to read more. I arrived to Uni a little early and found the sound stage empty. The company
was over on Stage 35 finishing up some pre-shoots there. Alex arrived and I asked her if she had gotten all her paychecks
from the first week. I was missing two, she said she was too. Everything got busy on Stage 41 a little after 1pm.
Lunch was walk away, but they provided a hot meal at crafty, so I ate a bit of salad, chicken marsala, zucchini and penne
pasta before taking a walk around the stages in search of the back entrance to the theme park. I found one entrance
but it looked heavily guarded, closed gate, barbed wire. Kids Management texted with some job for Zyla to walk on her
hands. She could manage that gymnastic stunt, but it was shooting Friday and I would not be able to take her.
Things dragged on all afternoon as we tackled a really big scene that was half the show. I did not believe our director
Marc had ever directed a multi-cam sitcom before so he was learning the process and finding his groove. Sean was exceptionally
funny in the scene, keeping everyone laughing. We eventually got everything done, except one pre-shoot that would have
to be finished the following day. More food came around 7pm, so I had some salad, beef, mac n cheese, and scalloped
potatoes gratin. We wrapped out by 9:30pm. I was exhausted. Shownight number 2! My call time was 10:45am, so I woke as Ed left for work and started getting ready.
As I was about to walk out the door to work, Maintenance stopped by to look at the leak in my washing machine. I couldn't
stay to supervise and they said they would leave a note of their diagnosis. I dropped Zyla to another playdate with
Mikee as I headed into the studio. I loved working at Universal. It was cool to see the tram full of tourists
drive past our stage, such a busy fun lot. As is typical of shownight, I did nothing but watch the camera refresh from
the audience section. This had to be the funniest episode, I loved the writers of ‘Date Expectations'. The
cast also brought so much it was a winning combination. One thing different from working Whitney was shownight did not
include an amazing crafty table all night with tons of desserts, or a special coffee or cupcake truck pulling up outside.
But I enjoyed sitting in the AD room listening to the show and the audience laughter, talking with the other stand ins about
favorite movies and books. Alex left early for a call back in Santa Monica for a karaoke horror game show and never
returned. Matt went to an audition on the lunch break, but returned for the live show. At one point I was needed
to stand in for Sammie since Alex had left. Sean introduced himself to me in his apartment set. When the show
finally got going, we all fit snug in the AD office, and Yu came to visit and hang with us. She invited Ed and I to
the Magic Castle. Marc found his groove, only shooting three takes per scene, getting the audience out by 9pm!!
Amazing speed, I was happy he would be directing every episode. The new scripts arrived and everyone read them, debating
who might be called in Thursday for guest star roles. This show mostly had male guest stars so I figured the guys would
be getting the most work out of Thursdays. I exited the stage a little after 9pm walking under the bright full moon
back to the parking garage. I finished reading Iodine. The ending wasn't Hollywood, more Indie raw with questions left unanswered,
as is the way of working on the psyche. It all rang true for me, the fantasy and reality meshing from childhood trauma,
with resolutions hard to come by. I loved it and looked forward to reading more of Haven's work. I called Maintenance
to find out what their note meant by don't use the washing machine because a repair technician would be coming to fix the
leak. They said they would come the next day, but I again would not be home or available. I would either be working
or frolicking in the sun. Zyla had a doctor's appointment to get her required vaccination shot for 7th grade,
she was not looking forward to it. I comforted her as best I could holding her hand. The initial shot was not
quite as painful as she had built up in her mind, but the hours of soreness after bothered her. Around 1pm Kids Management
texted Zyla with a gig on Crash & Bernstein but I did not know for sure if I was working the next day. We watched
more Smash and I was pleasantly surprised to see Sean Hayes guest star on the show. I had not realized he had worked
with Megan before. They worked so well together, I hoped they had a long run on our new show together. By 7pm,
I was pretty sure I wasn't needed at work the next day and went with our plans of taking her and her friend Clarissa to Hurricane
Harbor. Wow it was amazing. Perfect weather and the entire park was ours. Since almost all children were
back in school except Zyla's school, the park was empty. We rode all the waterslides three times each before lunch.
I spent the afternoon playing in the wave pool. The water pulling and pushing tumbling my energy about. I still
felt in motion when I would lie back on my lounge chair. When I got home Maintenance had left a new note saying the
leak was fixed and I could use the machine. I got my call time for SSW (Sean Saves the World) for the following day,
feeling like everything was in perfect harmony with my world. Friday
started out as usual, arrived to set early, looked through the script, had some breakfast. We had a new stand in since
Matt was gone to NCIS LA to shoot his recurring role of Detective Dan Evans. Tyler worked instead. I had never
met him before. I took notes on Megan as the four hours of rehearsals went by. Linda Lowry introduced herself
to me and asked what I did on the show. She was so funny in this episode ‘Shut Your Parent Trap', I loved her
personality. Another new face to our show was Parvesh Chenna playing Jerry. I remembered him from the pilot I
did back in April, Do It Yourself. It had not been picked up so he was available for our show and I thought he made
a good fit. A few of our scenes had sets on stage 35, but were acted out in Max's Office set for convenience of the
run thrus. Unfortunately this did not help Patti when she asked the stand ins to come to stage 35 and block out the
scene for her. So we were wrapped out early and I was home by 4pm. But the craziest thing that happened was at
lunch. I went outside to warm up since our soundstage was exceptionally cold that day. Alex and her mom Elaine
were just standing outside the door so I was speaking with them when a crew guy from Parenthood came over telling us how to
sneak into Universal and that he would take us. He told us where the entrance was that we could walk right through,
so Alex and I walked over to the other side of 31 to check it out. It did look amazingly easy to just walk into the
park and no security was around. We made plans to come back Tuesday afternoon when we had our long lunch. I texted
my friend Zack who had snuck into the park before, to figure out how we get to the rides from that entrance. He was
working on The Mindy Project and Christiane, the stand in we both worked with on Better Off Ted had been standing in on his
show last Tuesday when she snuck into the Universal theme park and was caught by security. Without a ticket to the park,
she was immediately black listed from the studio. She was at a meeting at Central Casting with the security guard from
Universal discussing possible fines and suspension from Central! I could not believe it. I texted Christiane to
find out what had happened and it was all true. Her case was being used as an example of the new policy at Universal
not to let crew into the theme park anymore without serious repercussions. I could not risk loosing my job so I would
not being going in without a ticket. I immediately told Alex and all the other stand ins. Christiane's story had
saved our jobs. She said some of the stand ins from Parenthood had fell to the same fate. I had heard of people
sneaking into Universal Theme park from the sound stage side for 30 years. When we wrapped out, Elaine and I ran into
the crew guy from Parenthood who we had spoken to at lunch. I told him what had happened to my friend but he could not
believe it. The weekend was mellow,
too hot to do much of anything. Around sunset Ed, Zyla and I took a hike up Stough Canyon. We watched a bunch
of our favorite shows on Netflix instant. I helped Zyla get her backpack ready for her first day of 7th grade.
Monday I was back at SSW early. We were running a little behind waiting on our director Marc who had thrown his back
out over the weekend and arrived to set in a wheelchair. He was then moved to a gurney where he spent the day be wheeled
back and forth between sets for rehearsals. Once he was there, he apologized for all the painkillers he was on, and
made funny jokes throughout the day, taking it all in good stride. He was given a mike and positioned in front of the
monitors or directly in front of set to direct. A lot of the scenes had been completely re-written, going in different
directions compared to what we saw last Friday. Because of this the writers kept coming in to view the rehearsals and
see how they liked the changes. At one point my girl Megan had to go to make-up so I was needed to run her lines with
1st team in one of the office scenes. That was fun. We did not get to finish blocking one scene before
moving on to Stage 35 for the pre-shoots. We did not finish both the pre-shoots so we were wrapped out by 7:15pm, but
told to be back early tomorrow to finish. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the stand ins had been added to the
crew list! Shownight #3, I wondered if our director would
still be wheeled around on his gurney all evening. I read a bit from Lying
Awake by Mark Salzman before heading into set. I liked the simple short book about a nun living in cloistered
seclusion in the heart of Los Angeles who begins having visions which may be explained by her doctor's diagnosis of epilepsy
and how she works through her truths and moments with God. Once on Stage 41, I had some breakfast, then headed over
to Stage 35 where we were to begin shooting the pre-shoot scene we hadn't the day before. An announcement was made that
the director was at the doctors and would be running an hour late. So everyone chilled, I got the new pages for the
day and correlated them into my script, transferred my notes to the new pages and hung with the Michael, Rodney and Tyler.
At 10am, Joe, our 1st AD came to announce that the final decision was that our director Marc could not direct in
his condition and we would be re-scheduling the day to next Tuesday. So our hiatus started early! I was so excited
to be going home to spend Zyla's last day of summer break with her. I picked her up and we went to Magic Mountain.
The park wasn't empty, but the wait for rides ranged from 5-15 minutes. We rode Tatsu first, which recently makes me
feel like I'm getting a nosebleed on the last really big loop. Then over to Superman to cool off in the air-conditioned
cave tunnel, love that ride. Zyla got wet on the bridge over Tidal Wave before we went to Scream and Colossus.
Last I wanted to do Goliath, which does make my eyesight go in and out toward the end. Zyla felt really dizzy.
It was so hot out and with all those twist and turns. We decided to leave, but the line to Full Throttle was so short
we had to go. Zyla felt better after that. Even with the weather, she wanted to try the caramel funnel cake, so
we shared one before leaving the park. So good. We arrived home around 3pm and found the Maintenance guy trying
to get in to finish fixing my washing machine. They never call to say when they are coming, I had no idea how long he
had been waiting, but I let him in and he finished fixing the washer timer. Zyla and I went to visit our neighbor Janette
to pay our respects to their cat that had died. 19 years was a long time, they had made a shrine to Kitty around her
ashes. Ed came home and needed Zyla ready to shoot his horror film he wrote over the summer. He was shooting a
trailer for it and needed some shots of her. But first I said she needed dinner, so I fed her before taking her to the
location at his friend Ed's house down the street. Joleen met up with us there as she was the leading lady in the film.
I kissed Zyla good-bye and came home to chill. I wanted this to be a fun set thing she did with her daddy, since I already
took her to set and did other things. I wanted some chill time after walking all over the amusement park all day.
I watched The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle. Surprisingly trippy fun movie with Tania Raymonde and Natasha
Lyonne. Zyla went back to school for her 1st
day of 7th grade. It was a short week. Basically for the kids to get their supplies in and meet teachers.
They were only going three days and out at noon each day. By the time I picked her up, I had her booked on See Dad Run
for the next day thanks to Kids Management. Since she had just started school she had no homework or school work so
we went to the library and found a book for her to read at set school. Zyla had never been to Paramount Studios so I
was excited to take her for her first time. Her call time was early. I got up at 4:30am, then got her up by 5am.
We were told to come having had breakfast since it was a low budget Aftra Nickelodeon sitcom show. It was also walk-away
lunch. After breakfast we headed out to Hollywood to find parking on the street, since the show also did not reimburse
if you parked in the structure which cost $10 now. Every show I had ever worked on the lot reimbursed so this was a
first for me. Thankfully we found parking and made our way in by the Lemongrove entrance. I walked her through
the back lot past the Glee soundstages and New York streets. We arrived early to Stage 19 and sat in the front row of
the audience section. Then I saw Michele, the DIT of our camera department on Whitney and the pilot Do It Yourself.
I said hi to her. She said I would know a lot of the crew on this set. Just then Patti, the DP of Whitney and
SSW walked by! I said hi to her. She could not believe I was working her show. I knew she had another show
she did but did not realize it was this! I told her Zyla was working it and she came to say hi to Zyla. A few
of the camera operators were from Whitney and SSW as well. I felt at home here. It was the last episode of their
second season entitled See Dad Run Until He Drops. Zyla was playing one of Jackson's school mates. The scene was
a Hip Hop Dance competition at the junior high school where Jackson Brundage who plays Joe was deciding whether to dance with
a winning team or with his friends. The morning went quickly and all the kids were done by lunch time. Most of
the kids were still on summer break so they were wrapped. Zyla had to come back after walk away lunch to finish her
set schooling. So I took her to the commissary where we had burgers and onion rings. After lunch while she finished
up her schooling I watched the 2nd Team do blocking of some other scenes with camera for their show night which
would be tomorrow. Zyla had wanted to see the star of the show, Scott Baio, but his call time wasn't until 3pm so I
didn't think we would be there then. Around 2:30pm I saw Scott walked by while I was sitting in the audience section,
but unfortunately Zyla was still at set school. She wrapped out at 3pm and we fought through the Hollywood traffic getting
home an hour later. Zyla told me about her set teacher Meghan Fife who had taught all the boys from One Direction when
they had worked an episode of iCarly. She thought that was pretty cool.
